Meghan Stapledon, PT
Meghan is an experienced physiotherapist, trained to help and treat people of all ages with orthopaedic and pelvic health conditions.
Meghan hails from Ottawa originally, and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science, with a specialty in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. From there, Meghan went on to pursue her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. It was in Toronto that Meghan discovered her true passion in the assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor. Meghan has spent the majority of her career furthering her knowledge base and care techniques with respect to pelvic floor physiotherapy. She has experience working with men, women, and children for a variety of pelvic issues, including but not limited to incontinence, constipation, pelvic pain, post-operative pain, and pregnancy and labour. Meghan is also an orthopaedic therapist who is certified to perform acupuncture and functional abilities evaluations.
Meghan’s philosophy is to work in collaboration with her clients in order to effectively treat the whole problem. She is a great believer of active therapy and rehabilitation attained through education and implementation of a personalized home exercise program, as well as manual therapy (internal or external) to correct underlying issues. Her biggest philosophy is: Just because it’s common, doesn’t mean it’s normal! (Example: urinary incontinence is NOT a normal part of aging).
In her spare time, Meghan enjoys challenging herself with different physical activities and baking delicious treats for her colleagues. She also enjoys taking physiotherapy students for their academic placements in order to further the profession of physiotherapy.
