Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What makes your clinics different?
Many physiotherapy clinics often treat multiple patients in the same treatment session with the use of machines and equipment. At NeuroLogic Physiotherapy we have highly skilled and highly experienced therapists that treat patients on a one-to-one basis at our clinics or in-home if required. We only employ therapists with a certain level of course work and experience to ensure that all of our patients receive high quality treatment. We offer treatment sessions in private treatment rooms in the clinic in order to promote relaxation and privacy in the healing process. Our therapists treat with hands-on techniques, we do not use physiotherapy assistants. We use machines minimally and only when indicated.
How long and how often will I have to attend for treatment?
Every person and body is different so thus we do not recommend the same frequency and duration of treatment for all of our clients. At the end of the assessment, the physiotherapist will give you their recommendation about the length of treatment session and the frequency you should attend based on their findings. However, the client is an active participant in their treatment process. The physiotherapist and the client will work together to come up with a treatment plan (frequency and duration of treatment) based on what the client feels they need. We also tell our clients that they should feel some relief in their symptoms within 3 treatment sessions. If you do not feel any relief, then our treatment approach may not be the right fit for you and we will refer you on to other healthcare professionals that may be able to help.
Do you treat clients only at your clinics?
No! We have several physiotherapists that can provide physiotherapy in home or in long-term care centers if that is more convenient for you!
I do not suffer from any neurological conditions or diseases. Can I still book an appointment at your clinics?
Yes! We have many orthopaedic/manual physiotherapists that can treat a variety of injuries and conditions that are not neurological-based. To read more click here.
Is my visit covered by OHIP?
Our clinics are not covered by OHIP.
How can I schedule an appointment?
Call the clinic you are interested in booking an appointment at and we will be happy to book you in with the physiotherapist we believe that can treat you best! We triage all clients to ensure that each client is matched with the therapist that has the proper skill level and experience to treat them.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No! However, a doctor's referral may be required for some Extended Health Insurance (EHI) claims.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit to our clinic will be a one hour whole body assessment with the possibility of some treatment during this assessment (if time permits) . Please come 15 minutes prior to your appointment time with a pair of shorts (as they may assist the therapist's assessment). Please also fill out and bring the Client Intake Form (found here) to your first appointment if possible.
