Susan is an experienced neuro-physiotherapist with 25 years of training and expertise in neurological physiotherapy. She is Advanced Bobath trained and employs a combined treatment approach that integrates Myofascial Release, Craniosacral therapy, and normal movement facilitation techniques. Her expertise is further enhanced by her advanced training in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release curriculum.
Susan is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have Parkinson’s disease, with a focus on improving their quality of life. She holds certification as an LSVT BIG clinician, which is a research-based exercise protocol specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s. Additionally, she is a trained PWR! Clinician (Parkinson Wellness Recovery), reflecting her commitment to utilizing evidence-based methods in her practice. Incorporating innovative techniques, Susan has trained in the “Rock Steady Method” and nordic pole walking with Activator poles.
Her dedication extends beyond her clinical work, as she actively consults and volunteers her time to present at various Parkinson’s support groups, including significant contributions at Parkinson Canada’s Eastern branch annual symposium and Telehealth Ontario.
She has generously volunteered at retreats designed for individuals with Parkinson’s and their care partners, participating in both the PWR! Retreat in Arizona and the inaugural Spinning Wheels retreat in Ontario.
